The short version

Ordentus exists to hold your calendars and your health data in one private place. We collect only what's needed to run the product, we use it only to show you your own life, and we never sell it or hand it to advertisers.

Operator: [insert legal entity name] ABN [insert ABN] (Ordentus, we, us, our). Platform: Ordentus, including the website, web application, private beta, calendar tools, health-data import tools, APIs, feeds, exports, documentation and related services.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use Ordentus. It is written to be read alongside our Terms and Conditions, and it forms part of those Terms. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), to the extent they apply to us.

Who we are and what this covers

1.1Ordentus is a personal planning and insight platform that brings your calendars — and, optionally, your health and activity data — into a single private view.

1.2This policy covers personal information we collect through the Platform, our website, our emails, and our support channels. It does not cover third-party services you connect to Ordentus, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

1.3"Personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether true or not and whether recorded in a material form or not.

Information we collect

2.1We aim to collect only what we need to run Ordentus for you. Depending on how you use the Platform, this may include:

CategoryExamples
Account informationUsername, display name, hashed password, and (optionally) an email address used for account recovery and verification.
Calendar & content dataCalendar feeds you connect or import, events, titles, times, locations, descriptions, recurrence rules, tasks, notes, and any merged or republished feed you create.
Health & activity dataIf you choose to import it: Apple Health export data and related sleep, activity, recovery, or fitness information. This is sensitive information — see section 5.
Technical & usage dataIP address, approximate location derived from your IP (used to suggest your university), device and browser type, log data, timestamps, and basic feature-usage signals.
CommunicationsMessages you send us for support, feedback, or account requests, and our replies.

2.2You can use much of Ordentus without giving us an email address; some features — such as password recovery and email verification — need one to work.

How we collect it

3.1We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, connect or import a calendar, import health data, change settings, or contact us.

3.2We collect some information automatically when you use the Platform, such as IP address, log data, and usage signals.

3.3Where it is lawful and practicable, you may interact with Ordentus without identifying yourself or by using a pseudonym — for example, by registering with a username and no email address.

Why we use your information

4.1We use personal information to:

  • (a) provide, operate, and maintain the Platform and your account;
  • (b) merge, deduplicate, display, and republish the calendar feeds you connect;
  • (c) generate the calendar, scheduling, and (where you opt in) health and wellbeing insights you ask us to show you;
  • (d) verify your email and enable password recovery when you provide an email address;
  • (e) suggest your university using your approximate IP-based location, so we can offer the right timetable import guide;
  • (f) secure the Platform, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot, and improve reliability and performance;
  • (g) respond to your support requests and communicate service or account information; and
  • (h) comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4.2We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

Sensitive and health information

5.1Health information is "sensitive information" under the Privacy Act and receives extra protection. We only collect it where you actively choose to provide it — for example, by importing an Apple Health export.

5.2By importing or connecting health, sleep, activity, or fitness data, you consent to us collecting, storing, processing, and displaying that information for the purpose of providing your own personalised view and insights, and for maintaining and securing the Platform.

5.3We use your health information only to show insights back to you. We do not disclose it to advertisers, data brokers, employers, insurers, or other third parties, except as described in section 6.

Your choice

You can withdraw consent at any time by disabling the relevant feature, deleting the imported data, or deleting your account. Withdrawing consent may limit health, sleep, or personalised features. (Clause 5.4)

When we disclose information

6.1We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only in limited circumstances:

  • (a) to trusted service providers who help us operate the Platform (see section 7), under obligations of confidentiality and security;
  • (b) where you have asked us to, or otherwise consented;
  • (c) where required or authorised by law, a court, or a regulator;
  • (d) to protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others, or to investigate misuse or enforce our Terms; and
  • (e) in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, where the recipient agrees to honour this policy.

Service providers we rely on

7.1We use a small set of providers to deliver the Platform, including:

  • (a) Email delivery — to send verification, password-reset, and invite emails (e.g. Resend). These providers receive the recipient email address and message content needed to deliver the email.
  • (b) Hosting and infrastructure — the servers and networking that run Ordentus and store your data.
  • (c) Calendar and data sources — the third-party calendars and feeds you choose to connect, which you authorise directly.

7.2We share with these providers only the information reasonably necessary for them to perform their function, and we require them to protect it.

Overseas disclosure

8.1Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8.2By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data-protection laws.

Cookies and similar technologies

9.1Ordentus uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Platform to work — primarily to keep you signed in via a session cookie.

9.2We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but doing so may stop you from staying signed in.

How we protect your information

10.1We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These include hashing passwords, using encrypted connections (HTTPS), and limiting access to data.

10.2No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your login credentials and devices secure.

How long we keep it

11.1We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy.

11.2When you delete data or your account, we delete or de-identify the associated personal information, except where we are permitted or required to retain it — for example, for security, backup integrity, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Deletion may not be immediate across all backups and logs.

Accessing and correcting your information

12.1You can view and update much of your information directly in your account settings.

12.2You may also ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at privacy@ordent.us. We may need to verify your identity first, and in limited cases we may decline a request as permitted by law, giving you our reasons.

Exporting and deleting your data

13.1Where available, you can export your data through account tools, and you can delete data or your entire account at any time.

13.2If you need help exporting or deleting your data, contact us at privacy@ordent.us and we will assist.

Direct marketing

14.1We are not a marketing company. We use your email address for account and service messages (such as verification, password reset, and invites you request), not for advertising.

14.2If we ever send optional product updates, each message will include a way to opt out, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us.

Children

15.1Ordentus is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Third-party links and feeds

16.1The Platform may link to, or interoperate with, third-party websites, calendars, and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.

16.2When you connect a third-party calendar or data source, you do so under that provider's terms and privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

Changes to this policy

17.1We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published at this page, and it takes effect when posted.

17.2Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention. Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
